This is a tough one. And of course the best answer is, “it depends.”
But for most people, I say NO. (and I know my printer friends won’t like this).
It’s not because I think print is dead. As a matter of fact, print can work better (because fewer people are using it).
BEFORE PRINTING ANYTHING, YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO ANSWER THESE 2 THINGS:
- Do you have good copy?
- Can you get your printed material into the right hands?
Good Copy
Good copy means something that really hits home with your IDEAL CLIENT. If you are not sure who your ideal client is, read ‘Identify Your Ideal Client.’ Your message needs to really resonate with this group. You need to be able to identify a problem that your ideal client needs a solution. And this copy shows the problem, solution, shows that you are the answer, and ENCOURAGES THEM TO TAKE ACTION NOW!
Get The Printed Material Into the Right Hands
So you know who the ideal client is. Can you get your material in enough of your ideal clients hands? How many people that you identify as your ideal client can you put your material in their hand?
This is something to keep in mind to figure out how you will distribute the printed material. Are you going to hand out the materials (door to door), at networking meetings, or maybe mail them?
So, is that it?
Well, no, not yet. You also should have a follow up system. And this start with adding the landing page on whatever item you print with a call to action.
