I don’t know if you were like me. But when they changed the layout of LinkedIn, I thought ‘oh great!’ I was thinking, another thing I need to learn or adapt to. pretty pathetic seeing that this is what I do for a living.
And I know when I spoke to others they were the same way.
LinkedIn has increased some of it’s functionality (and brought back stuff that went missing). And LinkedIn has lost some of it’s functionality.
But change is inevitable.
The one heartache for me was the search for connections function. I thought I lost it. I loved the ability to find 2nd connections that are in my geographic area that are in certain industries/have certain titles, etc.
Well, it’s not lost (THANKFULLY).
To search, you have to click on the search bar then hit the magnifying glass (see below):
You then get the opportunity to do an advanced search:
On the right side, you have many search options including:
- What level
- Location
- Current Company
- Past Company
- Industries
- Profile Language
- Non-profit Interest
- Schools
If you want more search filters, LinkedIn requires you to cough up some more dough for a premium account(Sales Navigator or Recruiter upgrade).
Did you lose or gain something with the new LinkedIn look?
