Facebook advertising is becoming more and more popular. Every time you turn around someone else is teaching Facebook ads.
So why is it so popular? Facebook has some CRAZY COOL features that separates it from other media. You can drill down your marketing and really target a very specific group. You can do it for very little money to start. And Facebook has some fancy retargeting tools and testing features.
So why am I saying “DON’T LOSE YOUR SHORTS!”? Because most people do. Most people spend money and maybe get a few more likes here and there. But they are not getting traffic, building lists or generating revenue. And if you are just spending money on likes, I hope you have some deep pockets!
Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your Facebook ads:
1. TEST TEST TEST
For the love of GOD test your ad. Don’t run just 1 ad. Create an ad set and test the image, test the headline, test EVERY line.
2. Monitor DAILY
If you can’t at least monitor your ads daily, don’t do it. In the beginning you should be checking your ads several times per day.
3. Watch your conversions
So you have figured out how to optimize your ad because you tested and you monitored (and you tweaked). GREAT! But that’s not enough. Are you getting what you need? How are your conversions? Maybe a conversion for you is getting an email address. Maybe you are looking for a direct sale. Are you getting what you want? Make sure to use Google Analytics or another type of program to monitor volume and types of traffic as well as conversions.
4. Start out slowly
Don’t decide you want to push $50/day in traffic if you have never tried out an ad. Start at $5-$10 per day and go up once EVERY piece of your sales system is optimized (image and every line of your ad, your landing page or website, etc).
